Petite Stash

Solution: Petite Stash is a beauty app that helps unify the whole beauty experience by assisting users in routines while they put on their makeup and helping them to track their inventory inside their stash.

Problem: Beauty users often have a difficult time trying to keep track of all of their beauty routines and products. Its also difficult for beauty users to keep track of when their products are expiring and when to replace them.

Research

Competitor Analysis research helped formulate and help us understand what technology existed to help add inventory or search for a product. We evaluated each competitor based on the heuristic evaluation that allowed us to analyze each app in detail and understand each competing app' pros and cons. We noticed that all the competitors had a "scan product's barcode" however when further researched, barcodes are not created equal in all products. Therefore the information retrieved, if used in our app, would be inconsistent as well as lacking the right information required.

User research involved of interviewing with five beauty users that wore makeup and were makeup enthusiasts. They  ranged from women ages 19-22 years old which was well within the target market range of women ages 18-28. All of the research was then compiled into a persona that gives insight into the user's pain points, goals, and background profile.
